Special Message From Jennifer Goodwin

This last blogger entry of this year will seem strange and out of character for those of you who read my ramblings every week. That's because this coming Sunday December 27 is a very, very special day for me, and I want to share my happiness with all of you who visit my site.  No talk about slots or other forms of gambling this week, no reminders about taxes and how to stay out of trouble with the IRS, no YouTube videos to watch.

This week Jennifer confesses that she may be just a bit older than most of you think, and that she is celebrating her 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary with her husband and family in Las Vegas this coming holiday weekend. We'll renew our vows, feast with family and friends, and finish with The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil. No comped rooms at Caesar's Resorts this visit! Our kids have reserved a suite at the Cosmopolitan. But, with luck, we may manage to work a little gaming time into our itinerary.

The photo is from our wedding ceremony 50 years ago. We may have changed just a bit in that time. I'm not posting our current pictures, because I want to pretend we still look like we did back then half a century ago. I wish you all could share in our remembrance celebration, and I hope you all will find someone to love and share your hopes and dreams with as long as I have. There are few joys in life to match being married to your best friend for 50 golden years.

  1. This is my first comment on this website. First, I would like to congratulate Jennifer and her husband on their 50th wedding anniversary. I confess that until today, I was not familiar with Jennifer's field of expertise. I have read many of her comments on Vegaslowroller's and other slot video producers' websites. Actually, I was trying today to find out if she has her own slot videos. Now I know that it's much more likely to find her with a pen and notepad (or an IPad) than a video camera.
Jennifer mentioned that most of us probably thought that she was a little younger. That's true. I was imagining somebody like Jennifer Harman of WSP fame (probably because of their first name and the impression that they both give us as a nice, non aggressive person with a great sense of humor).
Actually, my wife and I have a lot in common with Jennifer and her husband. We have been happily married for 38 years, and for nearly ten years we used to visit weekly a casino nearby (usually Foxwoods) and travel to Las Vegas once a year. Now we go there monthly instead of weekly.
Anyway, now that I know that Jennifer is an excellent writer, I will make sure to read her blogs and books in the future. Congratulations again on the 50th wedding anniversary

  2. Nick, Thank you so very much for your kind comments on my writing and your congratulations on my 50th wedding anniversary. What a great way to start the New Year! I guess I'll have to be more careful what I say to my favorite slot producers on their sites in the future. : ) If you are not already a slot fanatic, you should visit the site and join the group. There are maybe 4,000 players of all ages from all across the country in the group, and they share their videos, ask and answer each other's questions, and meet and greet frequently at various casinos...a social media group of very nice people who all like slots. You can even find a picture from my vow renewal on one of the general chat threads if you look hard enough. I wish the lady in that picture did look more like Jennifer Harman of WSP fame - but that ship has sailed long ago. Anyway, thank you again for the great start to the new year, and best wishes to you and your wife when you celebrate your 40th in two more years. Jen
